FJB Hotels donates £700 to the Bus Stop Club for two groups of fifteen socially disadvantaged children to visit Longmead Community Farm.
With the help of all our staff and generous guests, we’ve helped make a difference to the lives of many young people in our local area through Cash For Kids, supported by local radio station Wave 105. In 2015 we raised £22,000 and here’s one of the charities we’ve helped in 2016.
FJB Hotels donation will allow two groups of fifteen children and an opportunity for a day out at Longmead Farm. These specific children, based in the Ferndown area, do not have the opportunity to go on holiday or day trips like other families, so a day at the farm is an extra special treat – and one that will be remembered all year.
The Bus Stop Club is used by many families as a place where they can acquire advice, practical help and support. Many of the service users are from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and the club provides them with invaluable support, aiming to promote the good health of these local children and their families.
Susan Sutherland, project manager of the Bus Stop Club, applied for a grant of £350 to provide one farm visit for 15 children. However, we at FJB Hotels, were able to double the amount giving them two separate visits to enjoy, for a total of £700. Our guest donations, and FJB Hotels, can really make a difference to these children’s lives.
