With the help of all our staff and generous guests, we’ve helped make a difference to the lives of many young people in our local area through Cash For Kids, supported by local radio station Wave 105. In 2016 we raised £23,570 and here’s one of the charities we’ve helped in 2017.
Life Education Wessex provides vital age appropriate health, wellbeing and drug prevention education to children across Dorset in their mobile classrooms or ‘life buses’ as the children prefer to call them, with specially trained educators. They teach children about the wonder of life, themselves (physical and emotional wellbeing) and to respect others, with the aim of showing them how to make healthy choices and avoid risky behaviours that may harm themselves and their futures.
The grant will help them to deliver the age appropriate programmes in deprived areas to children aged 3 to 13 years, in the mobile classrooms over 10 days. The kids will learn about health – the importance of exercise, sleep and personal hygiene and the older children will learn about the risks associated with the use of drugs, alcohol and smoking.
By opting to add £1 to your room rate upon check out can really make a difference to a child’s life.
