FJB Hotel’s donates £2,500 to Community First helping provide 10 mini bus trips, each taking 12 New Forest Youth Carers to an activity such as trips to art and leisure centres, as well as days out to Marwell and Paulton’s Park.
With the help of all our staff and generous guests, we’ve helped make a difference to the lives of many young people in our local area through Cash For Kids, supported by local radio station Wave 105. In 2016 we raised £23,570 and here’s one of the charities we’ve helped in 2017.
The New Forest Young Carer Service is delivered by Community First New Forest to support children from 7 to 18 years old with a caring responsibility for a family member and therefore are missing out on a regular childhood. They provide over 200 Young Carers with the opportunity to be a child and have the same life chances as their peers.
Youth carers are children who have a carer responsibility for a family member with an illness or disability. The grant will help them to offer additional activities, much needed time out and support.
