FJB Hotel’s supports the Lytchett Riding School’s costs to enable 14 local disabled children to attend the school weekly during 2017. Riding helps with coordination and balance, while giving wheelchair users a chance to enjoy freedom of movement.
With the help of all our staff and generous guests, we’ve helped make a difference to the lives of many young people in our local area through Cash For Kids, supported by local radio station Wave 105. In 2016 we raised £23,570 and here’s one of the charities we’ve helped in 2017.
In 2016, FJB Hotels purchased a new large stable mounting block to assist children with poor balance and motor skills safely and confidently mount their horse. After visiting the school again and seeing the children enjoying their riding sessions we donated £1,246 to fund the costs of another 14 children in 2017 to ride weekly at this fantastic school.
The riding school provides the opportunity for children with disabilities to experience horse riding. Half an hour riding is the equivalent of five hours of physiotherapy, and the children also enjoy the movement of the ponies and the chance to learn through a unique play environment.
