Raising money for Woofability
Andy Clarke, director and founder of Woodability, says ‘children with Autism and Down’s Syndrome cannot process information quickly and suffer from transition issues, resulting in meltdowns and challenging behaviour. Their families are unable to take them shopping, to leisure activities, or on holiday. Children who have a support dog can focus on the dog instead of their surroundings and transition issues disappear.’
The vital work of Woofability means the children, parents, and siblings can enjoy a more fulfilling lifestyle together. The children are able to experience the same things as other children, resulting in improved self-confidence and life skills.
